2.6l swap with a Isusu SUV trans both of which bolt in, megasquirt, aiming for 600hp.

As far as 80s Turbo Japanese these and Starions are my favorite cars, didn't know much about the Impulse other than the 2.6l swap the fact that there is an answer to their weakish transmissions makes me want to consider one in the future. I love this build, if I did it I wouldn't aim for 600hp that would be way too much in a car like that for me but it's great that this person is building this car. It's inspiring to me I guess, lol.

I would never think to do something like that on an Isuzu Impulse, but for whatever reason, it makes me happy that somebody is. Hope he finished it.

Well they are "popular" with like import fans, it's just they are so rare so not many people do anything with them.
